alexiaCREATIVE was founded by Alexia Chascsa in 2025, representing an official return to the "work" of creativity. Photography has been a lifelong interest for Alexia. She was the designated family photographer from a very early age and always relished sifting through the suitcase of old photographs her Nana stored under the bed. Alexia earned a Bachelor of Art in photography, painting, and sculpture in 2005, having studied at University of Michigan Ann Arbor, University of Arizona's renowned photography program, and Concordia University. Through her academic experience, she learned the traditional photographic printing techniques, working endless hours in the darkroom. She also worked in the marketing and communications department at Concordia University where her director hired her as a second photographer for a wedding circa 2004. 

Vowing never to abandon beloved film, Alexia began a portrait business in 2005, as all of the local film processing labs shuttered their doors. After attempting to turn the bathroom at her parents' home into a darkroom, her dad insisted she give the digital camera a second chance. Thankful for the push from her dad, Alexia went on to open 5Fourteen Photography in Metro Detroit, photographing dozens of weddings, seniors, and families. In 2012, Alexia moved with her husband to pursue his dream career as a pilot in the Army, marking the end the business; however, photography has continued to play a major role in Alexia's life as she continued to create fine art and photograph friends, family, and special events privately. Upon moving back to Michigan, Alexia is excited to officially return to working in the field of photography, using her artistry to preserve special moments for the community around her.


Alexia's photography has been featured in various galleries in Southeast Michigan, has won awards including "Highest First Time Entry" with Michigan Professional Photographers Association, and was published as part of the Professional Photographers of America Loan 2011 collection.
